The main jobs in Ancient Egypt were managing the building and constructions of royal monuments, architects and engineers, jobs relating to civil order, jobs relating to food supply and distribution, and recording rainfall and water levels. Scribes were very important in Ancient Egypt. The reason they were so important is because the government recorded a lot of legal business documents stone. The Pharaoh got the richest peasants to work as farmers on the rich land. Egypt was one of the richest Ancient countries in the world at that time. So the merchants ( who were more like traders) brought and sold products such as gold and papyrus to keep the Ancient Egyptian life free flowing.
