How was knowledge passed on to children
There were schools in Ancient Egypt but nobody went to them . Girls weren't allowed to go to schools so what ever they learnt they had to learn from home or a private tutor most likely a slave. This meant very few girls could read and write and only the rich ones could because there family could afford it or their family and a slave that would teach their daughter. This is the same story for the boys. Boys didn't go to school either. However boys with rich families went to a special school to learn to read and write so they can become scribes and in Ancient Egypt scribes were extremely important for helping the Pharaohs or Government Officials keep track of life in Ancient Egypt.
