Ancient Egypt was a command economy, there was a central government that was essential to control the economy. The production of goods and distributing materials were controlled by the same government. The economic decisions were confined by the Pharaoh with some advice from his viziers. Money wasn't there at the time but they had an idea about on economy so instead of money that we have today they traded grain and so over hundreds and thousands of years they developed money and their money was a lot different to the money we use today.
