The social pyramid starts with the Pharaoh. After the Pharaoh there are the Government Officials. Following the Government Officials are the soldiers. The next in line is the Scribes. After the Scribes there are the Merchants. After the Merchants there are the Craftsmen. Following the Craftsmen are the Peasants. Finally there are the Slaves who are the bottom of the social pyramid. The reason it is a pyramid is because at the top it is small and there a very small amount of Pharaohs and at the bottom there are Slaves where there are a lot of them. The Pharaoh was like the god on earth to the Ancient Egyptians and was the most powerful. The Government Officials was the Pharaohs chief adviser so any worries or any decisions that had to be made the Pharaohs would talk to there adviser and make the correct decision. The Soldiers were in charge of fighting for their country. The Scribes were the only people in Ancient Egypt who could read and write. They went to a special school by themselves just to learn to read ad write. The Merchants were the traders of Ancient Egypt they are the ones that keep the economy flowing. The Craftsmen were skilled workers that worked on pottery, leather workers, sculptures, painters, weavers and tailors. The peasants or farmers worked on the land of the Pharaohs and Government Officials. Lastly the slaves did what ever jobs needed to be done and no one wanted to do them.
